Paneer (cottage cheese) is a type of cheese contains protein, fat and carbohydrates. The content of carbs is very low but both proteins and fat contents are almost equal and high.
Although the fat content present in paneer is saturated fat and therefore is unhealthy. So, over consumption could be unhealthy. But eating it in moderation may not hurt. It contains reasonably good amounts of fat and cholesterol. It would be better to avoid it for those with hypertension and diabetes due to its high fat content. It can however be used in small quantities for such patients one or twice a week.
The best time to eat paneer is : a couple of hours after exercise is the right time and at night.
Eating paneer is healthy. The fattening agent of the paneer is determined by the milk its made from.If u r buying it from the store read for the fat content or the variety of milk its made from like skimmed,toned ,cow, full cream milk etc.
Generally paneer in the dairy store is made out of full cream milk which has high amounts of fat contents. If the milk you use daily at home is not that thick, its better to make it at home if you are a regular consumer of paneer.
